BRITISH STANDARD QUALITY SUBSOILS AND WASHED SANDS
In 2013, the industry welcomed the first British standard for Subsoil. Since then, BS8601:2013 has played a significant role in many of the landscaping projects we have supplied. Depending on your project’s requirements, you may need one of Bury Hill’s British Standard Subsoils or a Washed Sand for specifications with more demanding drainage requirements.

Our range of Subsoils & Washed Sands have been developed with the help of the UK’s leading Soil Science Consultancy - Tim O’Hare Associates, who also fully tests our complete range of British Standard Topsoil and Subsoil on a very regular basis to the current British Standard BS3882:2015 for topsoils and BS8601:2013 for subsoils and beyond. Indeed, we test for many more parameters than the British Standard requires, and it is this additional testing that ensures that our soils and washed sands are of the very highest quality, giving our customers the confidence needed to choose and purchase our materials in preference to those of other lesser quality soil suppliers, making our Subsoils & Washed Sands a wise and sensible choice for a wide range of landscape works.
