Our Medium/Coarse Washed Sand (E) has a total sand content of 99%, followed by 1% Silt.  The free-draining nature of this sand is confirmed by the predominance of medium sand (0.25-0.50mm) and a lower proportion of coarse sand (0.50-1.0mm) along with the saturated hydraulic conductivity of 621mm/hr.

The characteristics of this sand, subject to your requirements, makes our Medium/Coarse Washed Sand (E) a good choice for your top dressing requirements for sports pitches and formal/high use lawns.

This sand is also ideal for a wide range of landscape applications where a free-draining subsoil is required, including the planting of larger root-balled trees in both soft and hard landscape situations, podium landscapes, SuDS Rain Gardens and SuDS Bio Retention Systems.
