High Permeability Turfsoil (T)

SUITABLE FOR:
• High Use Lawns & Grass Areas
• Lawns with fast drainage requirements
• Lawns & Grass Areas requiring a compaction resistant rootzone

Our High Permeability Turfsoil (T) is designed for high-traffic lawns and grass areas that require fast drainage and good structural properties. The fast-draining nature of this Turfsoil is confirmed by a total sand content of 96%, predominantly medium sand (0.25-0.50mm), followed by coarse sand, along with a high saturated hydraulic conductivity, measured at 325mm/hr under a degree of consolidation.

Laboratory testing further confirms that Bury Hill’s High Permeability Turfsoil (T) is adequately supplied with organic matter and most major plant nutrients, except total nitrogen, which can be remedied by a routine fertiliser application.

Furthermore, it’s important to recognise that while soils with a high sand content typically offer excellent aeration, fast drainage, and resistance to compaction, they generally have reduced water and nutrient retention capacities.  Therefore, it’s advisable that your lawn is suitably maintained with regards to seasonal fertiliser applications and irrigation.

If you require a soil with an initial higher level of nitrogen and a slower rate of drainage, you may wish to consider our Lawn Topsoil (PL).

FERTILISER RECOMMENDATIONS

To address the low nitrogen, our soil scientist recommends applying and incorporating the pre-seeding grass fertiliser: ICL Sportsmaster Pre Seeder prior to seeding or turfing at a rate of 35g/m2 at a depth of 100mm.
